I've been meaning to get this on here a few weeks ago. Sorry for the delay. This soundboard was recorded live at Massey Hall, Toronto Canada, February 6, 1993. What we have is, another fine bootleg, by Swingin' Pig Records. This is by far one of the best recordings, I've come across, of The Ex-Pensive Winos. Not only does the recording sound great, so does the band. Even Keith's singing is strong throughout. It's a must have for your collection.

Neil Young - Avery Fisher Hall, NY 04/25/2011

This is from the forth leg of Neil's tour. He just keeps on keepin' on. And this show does not disappoint.  This is another great sounding audience recording, using those delicious sounding Schoeps CCM4's microphones. Someday I hope to own a pair of those. After one listen to this concert you will know why. I hope you enjoy this acoustic show as much as I do.

The Fleet Foxes - 05/25-2011, Columbiahalle - Berlin, Germany

With the Fleet Foxes's releasing their new album "Helplessness Blues." I thought it would be cool to hear them on their latest tour. This is an audience recording from just a few days ago at Columbiahalle in Berlin, Germany.   I'm not really sure who recorded it, but they did an amazing job. I give this person a big Thank You, for taking the time to record, and share it with us. For some reason this band is compared to CSN. And I really don't hear it.  I mean they're kinda folky, acoustic and the guys sing great together. But lyrically and the overall content of the music is nothing like Crosby, Stills and Nash. I find this comparison to be very misleading. Anyways this is a good band in their own right, and well worth taking some time out to listen to them. So, enjoy the show.

Here is another great sounding board, from WXRT FM, by Westwood One. Ray wastes no time getting the audience hepped up diving straight into "Destroyer" followed by my favorite "Low Budget." They play many other greats.  This concert doesn't disappoint.  And you got to love them teasing you with "Lola" riffs through the whole show.

Alex Gibney and Alison Ellwood’s MAGIC TRIP is a freewheeling portrait of Ken Kesey and the Merry Prankster’s fabled road trip across America in the legendary Magic Bus. In 1964, Ken Kesey, the famed author of “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” set off on a legendary, LSD-fuelled cross-country road trip to the New York World’s Fair. He was joined by “The Merry Band of Pranksters,” a renegade group of counterculture truth-seekers, including Neal Cassady, the American icon immortalized in Kerouac’s “On the Road,” and the driver and painter of the psychedelic Magic Bus. Kesey and the Pranksters intended to make a documentary about their trip, shooting footage on 16MM, but the film was never finished and the footage has remained virtually unseen. With MAGIC TRIP, Gibney and Ellwood were given unprecedented access to this raw footage by the Kesey family. They worked with the Film Foundation, HISTORY and the UCLA Film Archives to restore over 100 hours of film and audiotape, and have shaped an invaluable document of this extraordinary piece of American history.

The Rolling Stones - Cricket Ground Perth, Australia 1973-02-24

Amazing, is what I'm going with.  It's a great show and recording. Back in the day, when the internet was just a baby, there was a bootleg label called Swingin' Pig Records. As this soundboard recording will prove, they rocked. I don't know how they did it, but they must have had some serious connections. Swingin' Pig generally had the absolute best. Occasionally they'd did have a few that sounded rough, but nobody had anything better. This concert is one of their top notch releases. Which is very fortunate for us, because there's not a lot out there for '73' tour. That sounds this good. Everything is well balanced,, and all the instruments can be distinguished, throughout the show. The boys are on it, and playing their best. And the set list, well see for yourself. One interesting note, it's Nicky Hopkins birthday on the night of this show. I think that makes this kinda a special event.

Pavement - 09/18/2010 Agganis Arena Boston, MA

This is a fucking spectacular audience recording. I've actually had this for quite sometime, but just recently got around to really listening. I wish I had payed attention sooner. This show has everything you want to hear. They really did a great performance. It's high energy, and tight playing. I mean as tight as Pavement can be that is. The two encores (6 songs) are great as well. "Fin","Rattled By The Rush" and "Range Life" make this recording worth having alone. Of all the recording I have gotten from this tour, this is by far the best. Don't be like me and wait. Listen to it right away. Enjoy.

Bob Dylan 1963-02-08 Gerdes Folk City Banjo Tape

Here something for the Dylan collectors out there. I don't have much info about this. It's Bob playing his guitar with a couple of other musicians playing here and there. This version was remastered by Neuthorduo.  Considering the age of this recording it sounds great. There is slight tape hiss, but it does not detract from the music at all. What's cool about this recording is the tape just keeps rolling from song to song. So you got all the banter between Dylan, and the other people in the room with him. And they are having a damn good time. Helps give a feeling of being in there with them. Like a stoned fly on the wall, if you will.

Led Zeppelin - Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale, New York 02/14/1975

This is a soundboard released by the Empress Valley Supreme label. I got to say they did a pretty good job with this board tape. I've heard other versions that don't have the same punch. The first couple of songs sound a bit unbalanced, but that is the mix just getting pulled together. The only thing, that I'd have to say is, that the high end can be a bit much at times. But you can equalize that down on your stereo. Overall, it's a great concert, with a strong sound. A must listen for all Zep lova's.

Here we have a magnificent soundboard recording by the dirty, dirty Lou Reed. This recording, comes from a bootleg, put out by Godfather Records. The set list is really strong. It has a mix of Velvet standards and Lou's solo works from this time period. This is another must have for Velvet/Lou fans. Enjoy.

The Pink Floyd - High Time

I just got a copy of this very recently. Thank you "A DoinkerTape" for sharing and converting your vinyl copy with us. This is taken from a limited edition vinyl release. Only a hundred apparently have been circulated. I will let "A DoinkerTape" explain the details of this recording.

"Side one features three tunes from the "Rome Goes Pop! program(me): Astronomie Domine, Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun, and Interstellar Overdrive. The first two tracks are sourced from a VPRO-FM radio rebroadcast on 1988-04-29. The third track is an audio rip from the television broadcast on ARD TV (West Germany) from 1968-05-18. The quality is simply stunning."

"Side two is pre-FM sourced from the program(me) John Peel's Night Ride: Granchester Meadows (Daybreak), Cymbaline (Nightmare), Green Is The Colour (The Beginning/Beset By Creatures Of The Deep), and The Narrow Way. The last track is of mention as it contains vocals. For those of you unfamiliar with the extra titles, these tracks were performed on the road during 1969 as part of a concept piece "The Man and The Journey". The versions presented here are notable for their differences from the normal concert routine."

I couldn't agree more with the quality of this recording. It is amazing. I highly recommend this to all Pink Floyd collectors. Be it hardcore, or light listener, you will not be disappointed.

I haven't shared some Kinks in awhile. So, here is a new one that I recently come across. What we have here is a live FM broadcast, from WXRT, in Chicago. You may recognize this concert from Westwood One. The major difference between the two, is WXRT was first to broadcast the concert. And this is the complete concert, Westwood One left out several songs. So, now you can have to whole thing. As far as quality goes, the show sounds wonderful. Best of all they play some of my favorites. Like "Low Budget,""Gallon of Gas," and "Twentieth Century Man." This id a great show (HOT,HOT,HOT) with a great set list. Enjoy.

John Lee Hooker - Bellstar Lounge, Colden, NY 4/4/79

I've always been a big fan of John Lee Hooker. I love listening to him play with just a guitar, and no band. This soundboard recording however, is with a backing band. John Lee Hooker and the Coast To Coast Blues Band. I haven't come across any recordings that sound all that good with just him. This is a nice straight up blues. The recording sounds great. Enjoy.
