MOON DUO "KILLING TIME"

Moby Grape "Dark Magic" Live 1965-1969 Various Venues

Someone has recently asked if I had any Moby Grape.   I took a walk down to the basement to see what I could find. I knew I had a few, and to my surprise I had a few more. I thought I would start out with this one. For a couple many reasons. The sound quality over all is pretty good, which is very hard to find for this group. It spans a good distance from the early years to their high mark. And most of all the music, there are some real gems on this double disc. There are live tracks from Winterland, The Avalon, The Fillmore, and Monterey.  Moby Grape seems to be one of those greats, that is unfortunately overlooked. So, I hope this will be a nice start, with more to come.

Jefferson Airplane - Kiskano Theater Vancouver, Can. 01/14-16/1966

Now here's an old soundboard, from three nights at the Kiskano Theater in Vancouver, BC Canada. This is  pre-Grace Slick era. Signe Anderson was the original  female vocalist. Another musician many will recognize is Skip Spence from Moby Grape. It's really quite fascinating to hear them as a folk rock group. They haven't yet turned heavily into the psychedelic Airplane. There are also some very rare songs on this recording. It's a must have for all Jefferson Airplane heads.

Set List:

  1.  It's No Secret
  2.  The Other Side of this Life
  3.  Get Together
  4.  Kansas City (fades)
  5.  High Flying Bird
  6.  In the Midnight Hour
  7.  Lay Down Your Weary Tune (fades in)

Spacemen 3 - The Black Lion, Northampton, U.K. October 25, 1985

Here's a nice sounding audience recording. You got to love The Spacemen 3. That dark psychedelic sound, full of reverb and disorientation. Why not take a nice little 30 minute DMT trip down psychedelic lane.

Set List:

Losing Touch With My Mind
Hey Man
Mary-Anne
Little Doll
T.V. Catastrophe
2:35

The Doors - Isle of Wight 1970

Came across this a few months back, and since I haven't shared any Doors music here yet, I thought this to be a good choice.  What's special about this recording is that it is the complete performance. Many attempts of getting this concert out has been incomplete or a mishmash of audience and boards mixed together. This is a complete soundboard recording taken from a master DAT. This DAT shard by an Anonymous Taper is taken directly from the multi-track recording. Thanks the middleman Porsche this recording has made it to all of us. A big Thank You Porsche for sharing this gem with us. And to quote Porsche "At almost 70 minutes total, this is as good as it gets until an official release gets made." This is the truth. It sounds great. Enjoy.

Set List:

Introduction - 0:18
Back Door Man - 4:18
Break On Through - 4:53
When The Music's Over - 13:31
Ship Of Fools - 7:37
Roadhouse Blues - 6:07
Light My Fire - 14:21
The End - 18:18

Note: Here is the FLAC version as well. I thought the hardcore Doors Fans (like myself) would want the full "lossless", rather than the "lossy" mp3 version.

Chick-Fil-Acid?

This explains the bad experience I had at Chick-Fil-A. I gotta find this film. Anyone have a copy?
