Black Mountain - Washington DC 2/19/2008
These katz are some bad ass heavy, heavy psychedelic rockers. They bring the old sound into the new. This is a great sounding concert that was broadcast on NPR live. If you haven't had a chance to hear them, this is a great place to start. They have a great early seventies heavy sound, with awesome backing female vox, by Amber Webber. Her vocals combined with Stephen McBean vocals make this band. Not to mention the fact that the band is one mean machine.

This is to good to be true, and a New Album
Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood to reform Faces
Frontman Rod Stewart told Raysgigs.com that all the original members aside from late bassist Ronnie Lane, who died in 1997, were set to reconvene on Monday (November 17) to run through their old hits.
The singer, who spoke at the Claridges Bar 10th Anniversary Party said the band, which includes current Rolling Stones' guitarist Ronnie Wood, will use Stewart's touring bassist to fill in for Lane.
The Faces split up in 1975 after Wood began playing with The Rolling Stones.

THE KINKS WRITING NEW SONGS TOGETHER - Uncut.co.uk
The Kinks are looking to possibly reunite, and are working on new material together, front man Ray Davies has told BBC News.
The singer says that they have started writing songs but "It depends if there's good music. We want good new music. I'd like to do it as a more collaborative thing than we used to do."
The Kinks last performed in 1996, and are one the only popular bands from the 60s whose founding members are still alive.
Davies has also spoken about making another album, collaborating on duets with other musicians such as Razorlight's Johnny Borrell and Snow Patrol as well
as discovering new talent to work with.
Davies said: "I don't just want to do usual suspects. I'd love
to do something with Johnny, but I'd like to find new bands.
Unsigned even. I usually like the underdogs."

Tipsy -Buzzz
I'm so excited that these guys have finally put a new album out. Was thinking that maybe it was the end for Tipsy. Thank the psychedelic gods this is not so. It's been seven years since their last album "UH-OH"(2001), and it's tickling my ears with awesome sound. If you've never heard this band, check them out here. Their first full length is called "Trip Tease"(1997), and like all of them, it's tripped out, psychedelic, bachelor pad, exotica, space rock, instrumental, craziness. And man I love every second of it. No matter what chemical additives have been placed on your mind this music will intensify it. Not that you need anything, but a good set of ears and some time. The new album "Buzzz" is on the Ipecac Record Label. So Tipsy is sharing space with some other great artists like The Melvins and Ennio Morricone. This is Mike Patton's label. Lead singer of Faith No More, Mr Bungle and many more.
I know a few of you out there are as happy about this new release as I am. I grabbed it on Tuesday and haven't stopped yet.
This is one of my favorite songs off "Trip Tease."

Ray Davies - US Tour.
This is gonna be good, man. Check out the tour dates here. This is a show I've been waiting to see. I missed him last time around. This will not happen again. Just got a pair of tickets today. Hope everyone gets a chance to see him.
Black Moth Super Rainbow - Bonus Drippers
Trippy, trippy stuff. These guys are not messing around. They have just released a new EP "Drippers" check it out if you can. This album is Bonus Drippers, which is "a bunch of our old unreleased songs." It may be old, but it is still crazy fun. Very psychedellic. Lots of keyboards and crazy lo-fi weirdness. Their last album "Dandelion Gum", awesome. Black Moth Super Rainbow I mean shit with a name like that. Come on. Not to mention, they're nice enough to share this music for free.
***Bonus Drippers***
This video will give you a good idea what's going in their heads.

"Yellow Dots of Mystery"
There are so many things wrong about this. It just amazes me how screwed up things have gotten.
